Bone Layer Manager 0.5 for Blender 2.63a

This is a Blender Addon that manage the Bone layer.

in this relase you can:
- automatic creation of bone group of the bone in the layer with random color assignment
-select the protected layer for the link exportation.

to try this addon, download it, unzip it an install it from blender prefereces.

You have to add an armature object to visualize the layer in the Object Data panel, that you can find on the Proprieties panel.

  1. This is great but I'm not able to active it, it seems to be grayed out when I try to check it. I'm using 2.63a on a Mac using OS 10.75.

    1. oh, yes, it's a problem with the file name.
      You have to remove the dot froma "0.5", blender addons utils don't wont dots in the name, but only for the .py extention.

      I've correct it.

  2. Hey man great script ! I have been looking for this quite sometime ! The default User Interface for bone layers is a bit tough ! Yours is easy and practical, your can even create a bone group and select all bones in that layer ! Excellent Job Mister ! MERGE TO TRUNK VOTE !

    1. Also, I might discovered a bug...

      The layer names are saved in Scene Custom Properties as "BoneLayerName1" and so... If I create another armature, the bone layer names are the same... for all the armatures.

      Why aren't the names stored in Object (or Armature) Custom Properties, and each armature has its own layer names?

  8. Thank you. The latest version is very useful. With it, the time for setting up the rig is accelerated. There is no need to configure a special rig_UI file for the skeleton. Thank you.
